Amash Gets Pummeled By Trump-Supporting Republicans After Odd ‘Impeachment’ Tweet

“He just wants attention.”

So says a chorus of pro-Trump Republicans after Congressman Justin Amash, whose family makes a fortune every year selling Chinese-produced tools that are then marked up and resold to U.S. consumers, tweeted that President Trump (who is engaged in an America-First trade negotiations with China that, if successful, would cost millions to companies like the one owned by the Amash family) should be impeached.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Fox News that Amash “just wanted attention” and attacked the Michigan Republican’s voting record.

“This is exactly what he wants, he wants to have attention,” McCarthy said on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “You’ve got to understand Justin Amash. He’s been in Congress quite some time. I think he’s asked one question in all the committees that he’s been in. He votes more with Nancy Pelosi than he ever votes with me. It’s a question whether he’s even in our Republican conference as a whole.”

House Minority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise stated he “strongly disagreed” with Amash while the Republican North Carolina Rep. Mark Walker compared Sen. Bernie Sanders with Amash.

Back home in Michigan, the response to Amash was less than favorable.

Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Laura Cox praised President Trump’s leadership that she said “has led to the strongest economy in a generation,” adding that Amash has “opposed his ‘America First’ agenda every step of the way.”

In a separate tweet Cox went on to say that Amash is desperate to gain attention and “advance his own presidential ambitions, Amash is peddling a narrative that has repeatedly been proven false. Shameful.”
