Just beneath the headlines of the Manafort trial and subsequent Cohen plea deal are increasing rumors of a bold/desperate move by the Mueller investigation to first subpoena President Trump for his alleged role in alleged campaign finance violations (payments to women he had affairs with) and then when the White House ignores/fights that subpoena, quickly move for an indictment shortly before the 2018 Midterms.
It is a move now being speculated by a growing number of politicos:
1) Trump's personal lawyer testified under oath that Trump coordinated to commit a federal crime.
2) Trump will be subpoenaed. That is his worst legal nightmare.
So yeah, Michael Cohen. All the best people.

If true the move likely isn’t intended to work legally so much as politically. Muddy the waters right before the 2018 Midterms, shift control of Congress toward the Democrats, and then push for yet more investigations (and perhaps even impeachment proceedings) to hamper the president’s ‘America-First’ agenda. It is a Deep State plan being rolled out by both Democrats and Republicans alike all in the hopes of crippling the Trump presidency and avoiding at all cost a Trump second term.
We know Trump will never stop fighting. The question is if his tens of millions of supporters will continue to fight for him as well. There could be no greater ‘FU’ to the Deep State/Mueller investigation than to see the 2018 Midterms result in a stunning “Red Wave’ of epic proportion. There are approximately 10 weeks until the 2018 Midterm Elections.
As with all things, time will tell.
