After claiming Nancy Pelosi is a racist and then further claiming the Speaker was causing death threats against her, 29-year-old socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez participated in a bizarre (and brief) hearing where she cried while also seemingly advocating that the United States give up its sovereign nation status and open its borders to all who wish to enter the country regardless of reason, background, or intent—a demand members of her own party are calling out as “unbelievably ignorant.”
Even the far-left media was left shaking their heads over the display while more and more Democrats are now willing to call out Ocasio-Cortez and a handful of other like-minded members of Congress for their factless and destructive grandstanding that party leaders fear will result in significant backlash as voters prepare to have their voices heard in 2020.
ABOVE: Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reminded many of an ill-informed, over-emotional child as she pleaded for America to open its borders to anyone who wished to come in while denouncing the hard work of the nation’s security agents—many of whom are themselves proud American minorities. Ocasio-Cortez is claiming the migrant detention centers at the border which are struggling to handle the thousands of migrants who are attempting to cross the border every week, are no different than Holocaust-era concentration camps—a claim that has been forcefully denounced by Jewish people both in America and across the globe. Republicans, in turn, have been quick to point out that Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats have voted against increased border security funding to improve conditions at the overworked detention centers.
It seems Ocasio-Cortez wants to now complain about a crisis Democrats recently said didn’t exist while also refusing to do anything to alleviate that crisis beyond demanding the United States become a nation without borders.
Just yesterday Missouri representative Lacy Clay, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, blasted Ocasio-Cortez for what he called “playing the race card” against Speaker Pelosi:
“What a weak argument, because you can’t get your way and because you’re getting pushback you resort to using the race card? Unbelievable. That’s unbelievable to me,” Clay said. “I could care less. I could really care less. I agree with the Speaker. Four people, four votes out of 240 people, who cares…It tells you the level of ignorance to American history on their part as to what we are as the Democratic Caucus.”
Congressman Clay’s low opinion of Ocasio-Cortez’s grandstanding and ignorance is said to be shared by many in Congress—both Democrat and Republican alike.
