Even his detractors were collectively stunned at how powerfully presidential Donald Trump’s address to Congress was last night. President Trump emerged bigger while Democrats appeared small, petty, and dysfunctional.
It was perhaps the single most remarkable presidential speech in a generation.
Making the moment even more remarkable was Mr. Trump’s ability to continue pushing for the very same America First agenda that both got him elected and created such opposition among the country’s far left. He hit on the goals of immigration reform, tax reform, a stronger military, expanding education opportunities for all, repealing and replacing Obamacare, and repeated calls for unity within the country.

It came in the form of words directed to the widow of fallen Navy SEAL Ryan Owens. There has not been this kind of unifying applause within the halls of Congress for many years – and certainly not during the divisive administrations of Barack Obama and George W. Bush.
