ABC’s Comey Interview Garners Ho-Hum Ratings As Country Music And Zombies Dominate Sunday Night

It has been suggested there’s a BIG backlash brewing against fired FBI Director James Comey. His widely-publicized interview last night with ABC’s George¬†Stephanopoulos likely won’t help to lessen the growing negativity that surrounds Mr. Comey and his petulant and very personal attacks against a sitting president.

In short – the guy came off very weird.

Much like the book itself for which Mr. Comey is now engaged in heavy promotion, there were no bombshells or substantive disclosures. It’s clear Comey has some very deep dislike of Donald Trump which of course makes his firing from the FBI all the more understandable and reasonable.

The most shocking of the entire Comey interview is how weird Comey comes off. This is a man who headed the single largest law enforcement agency in the world and the guy looks and sounds like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum because his mommy refused to let him watch more cartoons. He remarks on the color of the president’s skin, the size of his hands, his height, his personality, suggests Donald Trump might have ties to Russia, thinks Americans who voted for him should be punished, and that those opposing Trump are part of some great cause to right what he views to be a terrible wrong.

The immaturity and self-importance were offputting and the ho-hum ratings suggest most of America felt the same as far more of them tuned in to watch the Country Music Awards and/or The Walking Dead.

The book will be released. The media will breathlessly attempt to hoist it high and within days it will be forgotten.

And Donald Trump remains President of the United States.
