Republican Leaders Quickly Back Down After Trump Rips Them A New One

As reported here earlier today, Republican leaders didn’t want the Office of Congressional Ethics to have the power to independently investigate potential wrongdoing by members of Congress. Democrats and the liberal media seized on efforts by Republicans to neuter the OCE’s powers, all of which caused President-Elect Donald Trump to openly scold Republicans for worrying too much about protecting their own back ends, and not worrying enough about fighting for the American people:

Within hours of those Trump tweets, Republicans signaled they would comply with the President-Elect’s demand they focus on far more important matters:

When it comes to getting things done, both Republicans and Democrats would do well to learn that Donald Trump has little patience for typical D.C. political elite messing about.
