Kelly Who? New Tucker Carlson Show Rocks Ratings – 27% MORE Viewers Than Megyn Kelly

The people have spoken – loud and clear.

The new Tucker Carlson show on Fox News, which replaced the now-departed Megyn Kelly, is a ratings MONSTER, thumping Kelly’s previous ratings by 27%!!!

Via GATEWAY PUNDIT:

“Fox News’ Tucker Carlson got off to a roaring start in his primetime debut Monday night by easily outdistancing both MSNBC and CNN, proving at least for now that the decision to slide him into Megyn Kelly’s old timeslot was an excellent one.

Carlson averaged 493,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demo, beating out CNN’s town hall special with Bernie Sanders (414,000) and The Rachel Maddow Show (324,000).

Overall, Tucker Carlson Tonight averaged 2.699 million total viewers, nearly beating the combined total of MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show (1.369 million) and CNN’s town hall special (1.357 million).

Compared to Kelly’s numbers on the same day last year, Carlson was up 27 percent in total viewers and a whopping 45 percent in the key 25-54 demographic, showing that Fox News may not wind up missing Kelly as much as everyone thought.”

—————–

It cannot be ignored that Mr. Carlson takes a far more fair and balanced approach to the Donald Trump phenomena than Megyn Kelly, who appeared to want to elevate her own career last year by being the Fox personality who would attempt to derail the then-charging Trump political train.

The end result? Donald Trump is entering the White House this week as POTUS, and Megyn Kelly’s replacement is already pummeling her (and the CNN/MSNBC competition) in the ratings.

WINNING.

NYT: Megyn Kelly Leaving Fox News for NBC

NOW BREAKING: According to the NEW YORK TIMES, longtime Fox News host Megyn Kelly has accepted a position with NBC for a daytime talk program, a Sunday news show, and be an ongoing political contributor to the network.

The NYT report indicated the full amount of Mrs. Kelly’s compensation have not yet been disclosed.

Fox News has yet to react as well, though the Times has indicated Kelly’s departure signals a “seismic shift” in the longtime-leading cable news network:

“…The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.

The move will herald a seismic shift in the cable news landscape, where Ms. Kelly had become the second-most watched host — after Bill O’Reilly of Fox News — and often helped define the national political debate.”

Unlike Book Title, Megyn Kelly Will Have To Settle For Less

Megyn Kelly wants more money, and just a few months ago, likely thought a bidding war would ensue between networks should they decide to be graced by her presence.

That hasn’t happened, and now Kelly must face the reality she is not nearly so valuable, desired, and perhaps respected, as she thought.

Via the L.A. Times:

“Megyn Kelly’s bestselling memoir is called “Settle for More,” but the star anchor may have to settle for less money if she decides to leave the Fox News Channel.

…So far no other networks have offered to top Fox’s figure, according to network news executives and agents familiar with the talks and who were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. A spokesperson for Creative Artists Agency, which represents Kelly, declined to comment on her contract negotiations.”

—————-

Kelly’s last two years becoming an insatiable self-promoter, much of that time spent attacking now President-Elect Donald Trump, has made her a particularly divisive figure within the Fox News talent stable. Readers of her book have noted how its tone clearly outlined Kelly’s intent to emerge from her repeated battles (that she manufactured) with the then-GOP presidential candidate victorious, and use that conflict to further push her own self-promotion efforts.

Donald Trump won, though, the Kelly File ratings stagnated, and her stock ultimately fell. That is not to say Kelly won’t remain a very rich on-air personality with an annual salary likely in excess of fifteen million dollars, but it now appears she won’t enter the $20+ million per year she thought herself to be worth.

Fox News Civil War: Megyn Kelly vs Sean Hannity

Megyn Kelly threw quite a bit of shade over her fellow Fox News talents during yet another round of promotion for her just-released book, “Settle for More” in which Kelly accuses some on Fox of settling for less when it came to asking real questions of Donald Trump.

Trump is a primary focal point of Kelly’s book, and it is clear that at the time of its writing, she was certain Trump was going to be defeated and that she would be able to claim herself to have played a pivotal part in that defeat.

Donald Trump wasn’t defeated, though, leaving Kelly promoting a book that is now far removed from reality.

Sean Hannity, who has been and remains an unapologetic supporter of Donald Trump, was quick to respond:

————————-

WOW: Megyn Kelly Getting Pummeled In Ratings As Trump Supporters Boycott Program

Recently, Fox News execs declared Megyn Kelly to be the longtime leading cable news network’s “future.”

If so, that future doesn’t appear particularly bright…

As the most recent viewership numbers show, Kelly’s program indicates a decided downward shift from Bill O’Reilly’s lead-in program, and then, even more damning for Kelly, is how the ratings jump back up for the Sean Hannity program, even though Hannity should, given the later time slot, have the smaller audience.

Hannity has made clear his support of Donald Trump, while Kelly has for the past year, taken to filling her one-hour show with anti-Trump guests and rhetoric.

It would appear that stance is now taking a considerable toll on Kelly’s ratings – and Fox’s bottom-line. She is now in second place for her time slot behind MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, a seemingly inconceivable result that has now become reality. And the all-important ages 25-54 demographic delivers even worse news for Kelly, where she is finishing a distant third:

Once again, Kelly’s numbers decline from the O-Reilly lead-in, and then those numbers go back up for the Sean Hannity show. None of the other cable news networks show this kind audience loss.

Word is, Fox News is bleeding advertising dollars now, with most of that loss focused on Megyn Kelly.

Megyn Kelly Claims Trump Doing “Horribly” Among Black Voters – New Poll Says Otherwise

Megyn Kelly’s ongoing misrepresentation of Donald Trump and his millions of supporters continued this week as she returned to the Fox News airwaves following a lengthy summer hiatus.

And just last night, Ms. Kelly repeated the claim to a panel of guests that Donald Trump was doing “horribly” among Black voters in America, despite numerous polling data that says otherwise.

Apparently, Kelly doesn’t let facts get in the way of her long-standing dislike of Donald Trump, despite this latest headline out of all-important swing-state Florida that includes some very positive news regarding Trump’s support among the African-American community:

Shock Poll: Trump Gets 20 Percent of Black Vote in Florida Poll; Leads Clinton Overall 43 to 41

The headline comes from a just-released Florida Atlantic University poll of 1200 registered voters in Florida surveyed over the last few days. In 2012, Mitt Romney, a candidate Megyn Kelly “gushed” over, according to then-media reports, garnered just six percent of the Black vote in Florida.

Donald Trump is currently more than TRIPLING that amount, and yet, Kelly repeats over and over again that Trump is doing “horribly” among black voters.

The truth Kelly chooses to ignore, is that Donald Trump is garnering far more support among African American voters than her own show does among African American viewers. (only 1% of Fox News viewers are Black according to a 2014 Nielsen survey.)

She would do well to give that fact some thought.

Megyn Kelly’s Influence At Fox News Badly Damaged Following War On Trump

It was a much-touted Megyn Kelly special intended to expand her viewership at Fox News.

Instead, it proved a ratings and financial disaster that has left Kelly in a far weaker position as she continues to negotiate a new contract with the network.

Weeks earlier, a desperate Megyn Kelly personally reached out to Donald Trump to coordinate an interview with the GOP front-runner as a means of securing a much-needed ratings bonanza for her first prime-time news special. It apparently took several attempts before Trump agreed – on his terms.

Kelly was quick to approve the interview and went to Trump Tower thinking its success would further solidify her leverage with Fox as she works to increase her contract by several millions of dollars per year.

What Ms. Kelly didn’t count on was millions of Trump supporters ignoring the interview, wanting nothing to do with helping the career of a woman they feel has been unfairly attempting to destroy the campaign of the Republican candidate they hope to be this country’s next president.

And apparently, even high ranking executives at Fox are pleased to see the increasingly self-important Kelly given a rather large portion of humble pie as her news special garnered just over half of what its expected audience of viewers, as reported by the Gateway Pundit:

New York’s Gabriel Sherman is reporting that in addition to being a ratings and financial failure, Megyn Kelly’s interview with Donald Trump has resulted in her losing most of the leverage she had in her upcoming contract negotiations.

Fox executives were willing to consider 9 million viewers a success, but Kelly’s supposedly mainstream appeal didn’t translate to the parent network, and she only netted 4.8 million viewers. It was, as one Fox insider told Sherman, “not good for her at all.”

In fact, her boss Roger Ailes was apparently so tickled by the fact that he would not have to pay her a reported $25 million to remain at Fox News that he was heard “snickering” in a Thursday meeting when the special was mentioned.

It should also be noted that The Kelly File is now generating far less viewers in the all important 25-54 demographic. Both Bill O’Reilly, who comes before Megyn Kelly’s show, and Sean Hannity, who comes after, have far higher viewership in the demographic according to the weekly TVNewser scoreboard.

Kelly’s overall ratings are also in decline. She now once again trails Bill O’Reilly as the #1 nightly news program by a significant margin. Prior to her long running war of words with Donald Trump, she was often beating O’Reilly.

Trump To Ignore Megyn Kelly-Hosted Fox News Town Hall Event

The battle between Fox News and Donald Trump appears to have been somewhat reignited this week as the current GOP frontrunner’s campaign declared its intent to skip a Wednesday candidate town hall event due to what the Trump campaign is calling a scheduling conflict.

The event is to be hosted by Fox News personality, Megyn Kelly, who has for months been among Mr. Trump’s most consistent critics on the top-rated cable news network.

“The campaign has a previous engagement in Virginia and then New York, which could not be rescheduled,” Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks said in an email to The Hollywood Reporter. “Given this was just proposed at the last minute, it was not possible to change our plans in order to attend.”

That was the official word from Team Trump.

Trump’s absence will no doubt lessen the viewership of the town hall program, but the more pertinent question will be if his absence will negatively impact his performance for the Super Tuesday primary elections the following week. Many have suggested Donald Trump’s sudden departure from a Fox-hosted GOP debate just days before the Iowa Caucus might very well have cost him a victory in that state.

Megyn Kelly admitted the town hall event was in fact put together on short notice:

Trump’s team is correct-we only scheduled this last-minute. They were very polite & we’re happy we’ll see him in MI

Is the above statement Kelly’s admission and understanding of the Trump campaign’s inability to scramble prior campaign event engagements, or was the town hall actually scheduled to create the very conflict with the Trump campaign’s schedule in the first place? (rumors are already spreading that the Kelly program purposely chose a day this week on which Mr. Trump had two important, already scheduled engagements.)

Trump has reconfirmed his intention to be at the scheduled Fox News GOP debate in Detroit, Michigan on March 3rd – two days after the Super Tuesday primary.

DEVELOPING…

REPORT: Fox News DID Attempt Trump Political “Kill Shot”

D.C. Whispers Confirmed: Fox News planned Trump “kill shot” at upcoming GOP debate:

News broke late yesterday that confirmed an earlier report here regarding Fox News’ plan to try and do significant damage to the Donald Trump political campaign during the scheduled Thursday GOP debate moderated by Fox News.

(ABOVE: Muslim activist Nabela Noor was chosen by Fox News to participate in Thursday’s GOP debate. Noor has publicly condemned Donald Trump and likened him to Adolph Hitler. Previous reports also indicate she condemns the United States as a racist nation that suffers Islamophobia which is largely responsible for inciting terror attacks against it. Fox News has yet to explain why it would allow such a person to participate in a nationally-televised GOP debate despite requests to do just that.

—————–

Part of the moderating panel is network personality, Megyn Kelly, a figure with whom Donald Trump has sparred with over the last few months following a question many felt to be terribly out of line and biased in which she accused Trump of hating women. In the last few weeks heading into the this week’s Fox News debate, the Trump campaign communicated to Fox News their concerns over Kelly being part of the moderating panel. Then additional information is alleged to have reached the Team Trump regarding Fox’s intention to use the last debate prior to the Iowa Caucus to try and influence that state’s Caucus outcome.

This is the headline from the earlier D.C. Whispers report on the subject:

Is Fox News Preparing Proverbial “Kill Shot” Against Trump Campaign?

Now this from our friends at Breitbart News published late yesterday:

Google and Fox TV Invite Anti-Trump, Hitler-Citing, Muslim Advocate to Join Next GOP TV-Debate

“Fox News and Google have invited three YouTube personalities to ask questions at the Jan. 28 GOP debate — including a Muslim advocate (Nabela Noor) who describes Donald Trump as a bigot and who visually portrayed him as being in agreement with national socialist Adolf Hitler.”

Noor has also blamed what she deems to be America’s anti-Muslim culture for past, present, and possible future terrorist attacks against the United States, a nation she says suffers from “Islamophobia.”

It seems quiet clear that Fox News’ intent to allow such a radical, militant-styled Muslim advocate to participate in the GOP debate was to set up a moment intended to challenge and embarrass Donald Trump.  While it is far from certain Ms. Nabala would have succeeded in doing so, it goes to the network’s intent. Fox News was not merely playing the role of moderator, it was acting as an anti-Trump activist.

Breitbart News has attempted to get a response from Fox News representatives regarding the above information.

So far, the news network has refused to respond as rumors now swirl that staff directly associated with Megyn Kelly played a role in Noor’s selection to be a participant in the debate.

Readers can access the full Breitbart News report on this subject: HERE

Kudos to them for uncovering what appears to be decidedly underhanded and manipulative plot to damage the current GOP frontrunner. It will be interesting to see if any of the other candidates condemn Fox News for what was so clearly attempted.

This has nothing to do with voters who support or don’t support Donald Trump’s campaign. It has everything to do with a news media giant attempting to make that choice for voters via the direct manipulation of a presidential debate. That is an action worthy of widespread condemnation regardless of one’s political loyalties.

Megyn Kelly Announces Sudden “Vacation” From Fox News Program

With word her show took a ratings hit following a debate moderator performance many deemed blatantly abusive of GOP candidate Donald Trump, Megyn Kelly abruptly announced at the end of her program last night she was taking a “much needed” one-and-a-half week vacation from the show.

Did Fox News president Roger Ailes put her in a time out?

Within minutes of her announced vacation departure, Kelly received a flurry of social media commentary indicating many were pleased to see her leaving. Some urged her to extend her vacation until “the campaign is over.”

@megynkelly now you ask for feedback?Take a long vacation til the election is done.

How Donald Trump Brought Fox News To Its Knees In Just 72 Hours

Whether you like him or not, it cannot be disputed that Donald Trump is a man who doesn’t back down from a fight, even when it is against the #1 cable news network on television.

ABOVE: The Trump vs Megyn Kelly fracas following last week’s Republican presidential debate led to Fox News president Roger Ailes scrambling to broker a peace between the outspoken GOP frontrunner and the Fox  News network.

———–

Mr. Trump was visibly annoyed by debate moderator Megyn Kelly’s accusation that Trump was not verbally abusive toward women. This annoyance turned to outrage after Fox News almost immediately declared the Trump campaign as finished in the hours following the debate, a declaration that was seemingly solidified by Mr. Trump’s declaration that Mrs. Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes…out of her wherever” during an interview he gave to CNN.

When fellow Republicans and other Mainstream Media blasted Trump’s comments, parroting the claim by some that Mr. Trump’s comments were referencing Megyn Kelly’s menstrual cycle, the embattled New York billionaire called the claim a “disgusting” misrepresentation of his words and then called for Kelly to apologize to him. He then boycotted Fox News for the remainder of the weekend and instead gave several interviews to competing cable news programs.

While Trump’s Fox News boycott took place, Fox executives found themselves inundated with a social media backlash initiated by tens of thousand of Trump supporters. This backlash reached such epic proportions by Sunday that Fox News president, Roger Ailes personally called Donald Trump to broker a peace. Off-the-record reports indicate Trump remained adamant regarding his deep anger and disappointment over how the debate was moderated, a stance which resulted in the normally unbending Ailes to give his assurance to Mr. Trump that the network would “treat him very fairly” in the future.

That admission by Mr. Ailes has been taken by some to be an admission that at least some of the network moderators had an anti-Trump agenda going into last week’s debate.

While Trump is now willing to speak with Fox News personalities once again, he is said to be refusing to do so with Megyn Kelly specifically, a condition Mr. Ailes quickly agreed to.

Leaving campaign politics aside, one must wonder how much more effective for America the Iran nuclear negotiations would have been had Donald Trump been at the helm and not the far more passive approach that has been the hallmark of the Obama administration?
