Robert Mueller Increasingly “Desperate & Despondent” As He Faces “Enormous Pressure” To Seriously Damage Trump

He is burning through tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer cash every month as he tries to find something substantive to attack the Trump presidency with. So far Robert Mueller has come up with nothing beyond a couple of minor plea deals largely unrelated to President Trump (and even those are now crumbling after closer legal scrutiny) and those who backed him are said to be growing angry over how little Mueller has so far delivered.

“The clock is really ticking on Mueller now. His reputation, legacy, whatever you want to call it, it’s all on the line. He’s under enormous pressure. His investigation has been a huge failure.”

So says a longtime Congressional staffer with years of experience surviving the D.C. swamp.

“Mueller’s getting desperate. He’s frustrated. Some say he’s despondent. He’s pulling people off of airport runways in gotcha interview sessions. Kicking in doors, showing up unannounced at workplaces, monitoring private conversations, travel, everything. It’s bizarre, police-state type stuff that’s going on. The public is tired of it all but they don’t even know how bad Mueller’s behavior has been and how it’s getting worse. The entire investigation is out of control. The media has been covering up just how abusive it really is.

“Mueller has always been a rat but now he’s a rat in a corner and that means he’s at his most dangerous. Behind closed doors, Dems are screaming for his head. They pinned so much of 2018 on him and he hasn’t given them sh*t. The polling shows the gap between Republicans and Democrats has been reduced to a near tie which means Trump is overperforming the historical party-in-power trend big time. 2018 was supposed to be a Midterm bloodbath but it isn’t shaping up to be that.

“The Special Counsel appointment should never have been allowed. It was Establishment Republicans who let that happen. They’re paying a price for that too. Trump is doing everything he said he would. That includes going to war with the swamp. No president in our lifetime has ever done that. Even some Democrat voters are learning to appreciate what’s happening. Imagine if Republicans were to actually pick up more seats than they lost?  It might happen. Not likely but it might. That would be sweet!”

CONFESSIONS OF A CONGRESSIONAL STAFFER: “After Tariff Announcement Mueller Ordered To Escalate Trump Investigation”

The following are the insights and opinions of a former senior congressional staffer who is now enjoying what he calls the “…happy uncertainty of a self-imposed semi-retirement.” He spent nearly eleven years working on Capitol Hill, arriving there shortly before Barack Obama became president, and then leaving shortly after Donald Trump succeeded him. His extended family’s ties to prior administrations go back decades – at the highest levels. Now approaching middle-age, (ancient by D.C. staffer standards) and despite all that time in the belly of the “D.C. beast” he still manages to look younger than his years. He’s quick to laugh, slow to anger, and enjoys the occasional (and most often inappropriate) joke while also being an occasional (and always highly valued) D.C. Whispers’ source. His contact list is an impressive whos-who of D.C. power players (a benefit of his political pedigree of which he readily admits he had nothing to do with) including both active and retired politicians, staffers, and (too many) lobbyists. (He feels most lobbyists are decent people working in what he calls an epically f*cked up system.) He has attended two inauguration balls, four Congressional retreats, (to which he says members of Congress drink – a lot) and seven State of the Union addresses.

He’s also good friends with a since-departed network news/entertainment television talent who has been more than willing of late to spill the goods on any number of subjects and says he might be convinced to share some of those stories here as well.

First and foremost, though, is his deepening concern over what is taking place in the city he used to call home, Washington D.C., and the country he loves – America.

“Word is that Mueller has been given the green light to go after the Trump family directly. All business interests, the entire Trump empire, is to be turned upside down under the guise of investigating campaign financing during the 2016 Election. This was sort of danced around before, a few soft inquiries, etc. After the tariff announcement, though, (which surprised some of the President’s own staff)  Mueller has been ordered to go all out on digging into the Trump financials directly.

“That is Trump’s Achilles heel. His children. Mueller will now be allowed, with the full support and power of the Deep State, to pull them into the investigation with far greater intensity/scrutiny than what we’ve already seen over the previous year. The Trump children are to be used by Mueller to twist the President’s arm until it breaks if need be.

“Mueller has his orders. He will proceed accordingly.”

REPORT: The Mueller Investigation Is A Joke

This on-the-mark opinion comes from USA TODAY:

If Michael Flynn’s ‘crime’ is all Robert Mueller has, it is time to move on

Transitions include the president-elect talking to foreign officials. That’s not treason; that’s the job description.

On Friday, President Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators about a perfectly legal conversation he had during the presidential transition with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Flynn should not have lied, and why he chose to remains a mystery, but the substance of the single-count indictment against Flynn shows that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has strayed far from its original purpose.

The dust-up seems mainly to be about the decorum of presidential transitions. Days after the 2016 election, the Trump team cautioned the Obama administration against pursuing new and damaging foreign policy initiatives that did not align with Trump’s priorities.
“I don’t think it’s in keeping with the spirit of the transition,” one of president-elect Trump’s national security advisers told Politico on Nov. 10, 2016, “to try to push through agenda items that are contrary to the president-elect’s positions.”
The Trump transition team feared, for good reason, that the lame-duck Obama administration was poisoning the well with Russia, and pursuing spiteful anti-Israel policies on the way out the door. Trump asked Flynn, his soon-to-be national security adviser, to open a semi-official channel to Russia through its ambassador to discuss future cooperative efforts against the Islamic State and the United Nations vote on an anti-Israel resolution. As lawyer Alan Dershowitz argued, “Not only was that request not criminal, it was the right thing to do.”

…The real obstruction might be found in the Mueller investigation itself. The legitimacy of the FBI witch hunt against Trump was further damaged by reports that leading FBI investigator Peter Strzok, who had spearheaded the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s sketchy home-brew email server, was demoted because of anti-Trump texts he exchanged with co-worker Lisa Page, with whom he was having an extramarital affair.
This is hardly an unbiased investigation. If the type of process crime that Flynn was nailed for is all the Mueller team can come up with, it is time to move on.
