There will likely be a TON of leaks coming out of the just-concluded meeting between President Trump and Republicans in Congress.
The main reason is this: Donald Trump let them have it with both barrels. Apparently, it was Trump unleashed like the D.C. Swamp hadn’t yet seen.
“You really want to try and win your election in November without me? I don’t think so.”
UPDATE: “I’m following the law as it’s written. If you don’t like the law then Congress needs to change it. It’s simple. Simple. I’m with you but if you don’t like it you need to do something about it…It looks bad. Sure. Really bad. If you want to change that then change the law. DO SOMETHING. You people (Congress) have to change it. That’s how it has to be done.”
UPDATE #2: “We all know what it is. It’s fake. Fake news. CNN…it’s fake. The pictures…that was Obama’s, during his administration, not mine. You can’t let it scare you. That’s what they want. That’s why they do it. This law, you just need to change it if you don’t like it. And that’s the way it is. I’m not here to save you. I’m here to let you know I’ll support you but you have to do something. Or not. But if you don’t do something don’t come crying to me about it okay? Right?”
UPDATE #3: “Why is this coming up now? I mean, it’s so obvious am I right? Mitch knows. The economy, jobs, North Korea, there’s so much great news they had to do the fake news. I’m not saying the pictures aren’t bad. They’re bad. Certainly not good. They make it look bad. You have to do something. You have to work together. It could be such a big, beautiful thing if you did that. The Democrats won’t help. We all know that. They think this is good for them. We’ll see about that. But doing something, working together, isn’t that why you’re here? It should be. And if you don’t do that and November doesn’t work out for you then I’m sorry but you shouldn’t be here. Go do nothing somewhere else. You bring me something (a bill) that makes sense and I’ll sign it. It’s so simple. It should be. But it has to make sense. It has to be good for the American people. This isn’t rocket science folks. It really isn’t. Figure it out.”
Team Trump is on something of a roll of late. (Even as special counsel Robert Mueller tries to find something, anything, to harm Trump with) He successfully used a few Democrat leaders to alarm Republicans enough to revisit dismantling Obamacare. His approval ratings have bumped up. The economy is chugging along at a respectable if not yet spectacular pace. World leaders have learned to respect his refusal to play by their rules. And his base of millions of supporters remain as devoted to the Trump agenda and Trump the man as ever.
Which bring us to the ongoing dance between an increasingly capable and confident Trump and an arrogant, petulant, do-nothing Congress. POTUS Trump is sending a clear message to Republican leaders: Give Americans their tax cuts or get the hell out of the way.
Congress is responding. Its members, particularly red-state members, are fearful of a significant voter blow-back come Midterm Election time. These voters were promised results for all of Barack Obama’s eight years and all they received was a torn and tattered and too costly healthcare system, higher cost of living, fewer jobs, too much division born from politicians and the media pitting groups of Americans against each other, a lower standing in the world, a skyrocketing long-term deficit…the dark news went on and on and on.
Team Trump is letting Congress know tax cuts are not a consideration but a duty repeatedly promised to the American people. Give them their money back – or else:
Voters are messaging their members of Congress and demanding they support the Trump plan. That effort appears to be working as even some Democrats are carefully and quietly reaching out to their Republican counterparts asking to be a part of a Trump-approved tax cut/reform effort.
When Mr. Trump is telling them to “move fast” he’s also letting them know that should Congress fail to do so it’s time they move out and let someone else in who wants to actually get things done for the American people.
For eight long years the private sector was stifled under the weight of Obama-era anti-growth government regulations.
Now just a little more than four months into his presidency, Donald Trump’s pro-private sector growth agenda has the U.S. economy roaring back at a pace not seen in years. This growth is taking place despite ongoing opposition to Trump from Establishment politicians within both political parties as well as an all-out assault on him by the Mainstream Media.
Private-sector hiring surged in May, according to a report released Thursday.
Employers added a seasonally adjusted 253,000 during the month, payroll processor ADP said. Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Analytics, which helps produce the report, called job growth “rip-roaring.”
Small businesses added 83,000 jobs in May, medium-sized businesses added 113,000, and large firms hired 57,000 workers.
Note how small and medium sized businesses are benefiting most from Mr. Trump’s policies. That is another reason why he faces such opposition within D.C. Big Business doesn’t want the competition and Big Business is who fills the halls of Congress with high-paid lobbyists.
President Trump is fighting for Middle Class America every day and facing an onslaught of negative press and spiteful members of Congress while doing so.
If you want him to succeed he needs your continued support.
