President Trump and his administration have overseen a masterful coordination of efforts that have united the private and public sectors as the war against the coronavirus wages on. This included the very good news, delivered via the president himself, of a potential breakthrough in treating those infected – what President Trump referred to as a possible “game changer.”

Just hours later CNN was attempting to dismiss that good news and return the country to the doom and gloom mindset that appears to be the news network’s most important goal.

Check it out…

What CNN calls “unsubstantiated hope” is actually a peer reviewed study showing great medical promise to greatly alleviate overall concern over the threat of the virus.

This potential is enough that the drug company giant Bayer has just donated 3 million tablets of the drug Resochin/Chloroquine, long used to battle against malaria, to federal, state, and local healthcare agencies in the present fight against the coronavirus.

Another pharmaceutical giant, Teva, then followed Bayer’s example and announced it would be distributing 6 million tablets to hospitals around the globe by March 31st.

Now, take CNN’s above headline and compare it to the recent comments by New York pulmonologist, Dr. Len Horovitz:

“There is evidence that chloroquine is effective when they looked at SARS in vitro with primate cells,” said Dr. Len Horovitz, a pulmonologist and internist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. “The theory of the experiment with primate cells was that chloroquine could be for preventing viral infection or as a treatment for viral infection after it had occurred. In vitro in these primate cells, there was evidence that viral particles were significantly reduced when chloroquine was used.

Both the virus that causes SARS and the virus responsible for COVID-19 belong to the same overarching family of coronaviruses. Researchers in China discovered that the protein spikes on the surface of the COVID-19 virus are similar to the protein spikes found on the surface of the SARS virus.

“The way that it worked against SARS was by preventing of the attachment of the virus to the cells. Chloroquine interfered with the attachment to that receptor on the cell membrane surface,” Horovitz said. “So it’s disrupting a lock and key kind of mechanism of attachment.”

Researchers in China found that treating patients with COVID-19-associated pneumonia with chloroquine may shorten their hospital stay and improve the patient’s outcome.”

The science backs President Trump’s hope that chloroquine could very well be the “game changer” he and everyone in America and the world hopes that it is.

And yet, CNN (and other far-left media outlets) appear to be visibly angry over this very good news.

People need to really start asking themselves why that is.

(ABOVE: What CNN and other news media outlets are calling “unsubstantiated hope.” Apparently, multiple trial studies and support from physicians with decades of experience qualifies as “unsubstantiated” in the minds of the far-left media who seem to want the coronavirus panic to continue for as long as possible.)
