(Above: President Trump is transforming Obamacare into Trumpcare with remarkably successful results.)
In yet another example of how misleading the far-left media has been regarding the many successes of the Trump administration, Obamacare-related premium costs that skyrocketed during the Obama years are now falling for the first time. It shows just how far President Trump is willing to work for the interests of the American people vs the D.C. gridlock that so often only serves the political elites.
The president wanted very much to eliminate the Obamacare law in its entirety and nearly succeeded but was thwarted by a Republican betrayal in the form of Senator John McCain who had raised money from Arizona voters for years on the promise to repeal and replace the highly unpopular Obamacare legislation. When that opportunity finally presented itself, McCain chose instead to allow his personal dislike of President Trump to rule over his many promises to Arizona voters. His vote to keep Obamacare in place won the day.
So, what did President Trump do? He went to work simplifying the program and all of the healthcare bureaucracy – an effort that continues to this day.
The result? Lower costs as outlined in the following report by The Washington Examiner:
Obamacare premiums for midlevel plans will fall by 4% next year, bucking predictions that premiums would soar after the Trump administration and congressional Republicans made changes to the healthcare law.
The drop in 2020 premiums, announced Tuesday, marks the second consecutive year that premiums will go down under President Trump.
The trend begins to reverse double-digit premiums and mass insurer exits seen during former President Barack Obama’s last two years in office.
“The bottom line under President Trump: Costs are down and options are up,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar in a phone call with reporters Monday.
“The president who was supposedly trying to sabotage the law has been better at running it than the guy who wrote the law,” Azar said.
President Trump continues to do a remarkable job of returning power and choice back to ALL Americans, including but not limited to, their healthcare costs and choices.
Sadly, that’s yet another reason why the political and media elite despise him so much. The last thing they want the American people to realize is how wrong, how corrupt, and how destructive the political status quo has been in this country and how much it has cost them.
